13 WREX is a privately owned company headquartered in the US. Founded in 1953, it employs approximately 60 individuals, specializing in broadcast media production and distribution.
Gray Media will acquire WREX, along with other television stations, from Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group for $171 million. The sale includes stations affiliated with ABC, Fox, CBS, and NBC across ten markets. The deal, announced in a story by Variety, is expected to close later this year, pending regulatory approval. Separately, a partnership between the City of South Beloit and the Town of Beloit requires Beloit firefighters to respond to fire and ambulance calls in South Beloit.
