It specializes in broadcast television and radio, functioning as a digital free-to-air television channel in Myanmar. Operated by the Family Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of the major private broadcaster Forever Group, 5 Plus launched in February 2012 to expand its network's terrestrial footprint beyond MRTV-4 and Channel 7 brands.
