The defense technology company finalized the transaction on June 24, following its $2 billion strategic financing package, which included $1.5 billion in Series G funding and $500 million in preferred equity. Shield AI acquired Aechelon Technology from Sagewind Capital. Previously, on June 23, Shield AI announced the successful completion of the acquisition, aiming to integrate Aechelon's high-fidelity simulation technologies with its Hivemind autonomous flight software. Aechelon’s simulation and modeling solutions are used across various U.S. military programs, including the Pentagon’s Joint Simulation Environment, and are intended to enhance Shield AI's AI pilots with synthetic environments.
