Earlier, on March 17, el Kaliouby, known for co-founding emotion AI pioneer Affectiva, warned that if artificial intelligence consolidates as a "boys’ club," the technology's benefits could bypass women and exacerbate the existing wealth divide. These discussions occurred as the specialized field of Emotional AI, or affective computing, continues to emerge, blending neuroscience with information processing to simulate empathy and respond to emotional cues, as described on March 16.
