AIMS Alliance for IP Media Solutions is a US-based non-profit organization. Founded in 2015, the organization operates with approximately 10 employees. It functions as an industry consortium led by broadcast engineers, technologists, vendors, and business executives, dedicated to an open-standards approach that facilitates the transition of broadcast and media companies from legacy SDI systems to a virtualized, IP-based environment.
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), alongside the Advanced Media Workflow Association and the Video Services Forum, announced on March 25, 2026, the return of the IP Showcase to the 2026 NAB Show in Las Vegas from April 18-22. The showcase will focus on the transition of IPMX from specification to real-world deployment, highlighting how open IP standards support broadcast and Pro AV workflows. Previously, on February 4, 2026, AIMS, in collaboration with the Video Services Forum, the Advanced Media Workflow Association, and the European Broadcasting Union, certified 48 products to the Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) standard. This certification followed an IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event in Geneva, Switzerland. The newly certified solutions formally debuted at ISE 2026 in Barcelona, marking the standard's initial shift from specification to real-world deployment.
