AIMS Alliance for IP Media Solutions is a US-based non-profit organization. Founded in 2015, the organization operates with approximately 10 employees. It functions as an industry consortium led by broadcast engineers, technologists, vendors, and business executives, dedicated to an open-standards approach that facilitates the transition of broadcast and media companies from legacy SDI systems to a virtualized, IP-based environment.
On February 4, 2026, the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), in collaboration with the Video Services Forum (VSF), the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), announced the official certification of 48 products to the Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) standard. This certification followed an IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event held in Geneva, Switzerland. Previously, on February 1, 2026, the first wave of these IPMX-certified products debuted at ISE 2026 in Barcelona, signaling the standard's transition from specification to real-world deployment. Earlier, on January 25, 2026, AIMS had announced its plan to officially launch IPMX as a fully developed and certifiable standard for Pro AV-over-IP at ISE 2026, where the newly certified IPMX products would be showcased.
