Al Ahly Sporting Club is a privately owned company headquartered in Egypt. Founded in 1907, it employs approximately 400 individuals. Operating as a professional sports club, Al Ahly is primarily known for its professional football team, which plays in the Egyptian Premier League, the highest tier in the Egyptian football league system, and competes in CAF tournaments.
On June 25, Al Ahly was reportedly nearing a deal to sign Enppi midfielder Ali Mahmoud. Previously, on June 23, negotiations stalled between Riyadh Club management, Al Ahly, and international winger Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet" regarding his transfer, due to financial disagreements. Also on June 23, FC Barcelona announced the permanent signing of Egyptian striker Hamza Abdelkarim from Al Ahly for €1.5 million plus add-ons, after he had initially joined the Catalan club on loan in February. Earlier, on June 20, Al Ahly considered changing its pre-season training camp location to South Africa or Zanzibar, from its original plan in the Netherlands, due to potential visa-related challenges for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.
