All India Radio

All India Radio, also known as AIR and Akashvani, is a state-owned entity headquartered in India, operating under its parent company Prasar Bharati and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as one of its two divisions. Founded in 1936, the organization employs approximately 10,270 individuals and functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer. The company specializes in broadcast television and radio services, with its main operations centered at the Akashvani Bhavan in New Delhi, which houses the Drama Section, FM Section, and National Service. All India Radio also serves as the home of the Indian television station Doordarshan Kendra.
