On August 27, 2026, Siemens Digital Industries CEO Tony Hemmelgarn discussed Siemens’ evolving software platform, its acquisition of Altair, and AI integration in engineering software during an interview at Realize Live Europe. Previously, on August 12, the ransomware group majinahanashi publicly claimed responsibility for a cyberattack against ALTAIR, stating it would leak 84,251 files unless the organization initiated negotiations. This followed Siemens' release of the latest version of its Simcenter software portfolio on July 29, which marked the first time Siemens and Altair simulation technologies were brought together in a unified portfolio, incorporating AI-powered simulation and GPU acceleration to expedite design evaluation.
