On March 9, 2026, Brazil officially completed the shutdown of analog TV, a development designed to modernize free-to-air television and free up spectrum for 4G expansion and broader connectivity. Previously, on February 11, the Superior Council of the National Telecommunications Agency's (Anatel) Center for Advanced Studies in Digital Communications and Technological Innovations (Ceadi) held its first meeting of the year and approved its 2026 work agenda. Earlier, on February 13, Anatel launched a bidding notice for mobile telephony in the 700 MHz band, an initiative intended to expand mobile phone and internet signals throughout Brazil, connecting an estimated 800,000 people and 6,500 kilometers of roads.
