Astro Shaw

Astro Shaw, also known as Astro Studios, is a privately owned entity headquartered in Malaysia. A subsidiary of Astro Malaysia Holdings, the company was founded in 1996 and operates with approximately 40 employees, specializing in the production of movies, videos, and sound. Functioning as a film studio and entertainment conglomerate, Astro Shaw has been shaping the cinematic landscape of the Malay Nusantara region for nearly three decades, headquartered in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The studio is engaged in local filmmaking, having held half of the top ten highest-grossing Malaysian movies of all time, including franchises such as Polis Evo 3, Hantu Kak Limah, and The Journey. Its productions span diverse languages including Malay, Chinese, and Tamil. Astro Shaw has garnered over 170 local and international film festival accolades and expands its operations through cross-border television co-productions with Southeast Asian networks such as the Philippines' ABS-CBN.
