On August 26, 2026, Augustana University celebrated the opening of Foundation Heights, a new $12 million apartment complex on the northwest end of campus, with a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony. The facility, designed to house 104 students by the fall semester, is part of the university’s strategic plan, "Viking Bold: The Journey to 2030," which focuses on campus transformation. Previously, on August 19, the university invited the public to the ribbon-cutting event for the new apartment building. Earlier, on July 19, Augustana University issued a statement mourning the passing of T. Denny Sanford, acknowledging his belief in philanthropy to transform lives. In June, the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at Augustana University began showcasing "The Augustana Student Invitational," an exhibition of student portfolios required for art majors, which was on view through August 28.
