Augustana University's Eide/Dalrymple Gallery is currently showcasing “The Augustana Student Invitational” through August 28, featuring students who complete art majors by presenting their portfolios. Previously, on June 24, Forward Sioux Falls began providing $50,000 annually for five years to Augustana University’s Harriet Emily Scott Social Work Program, supporting paid internships for students. This follows the announcement on June 23 that six Augustana University students received Fred C. and J. Marie Christopherson Scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year, awarded to upper-level students for their scholarship, campus, and community service. Earlier in June, the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery presented "Chad Nelson: Fires in the Dark," a Master of Art in education thesis exhibition from alum Chad Nelson '95, which was on view through June 18 with a reception on June 5. In May, Augustana University's Class of 2026 heard from commencement speaker Abel Alene '26, who encouraged graduates to embrace uncertainty post-graduation, reflecting on his own journey and how Augustana became his second home.
