The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) congratulated Kirsty Coventry on becoming International Olympic Committee (IOC) President and acknowledged Thomas Bach's service. On May 3rd, the AOC held its Annual General Meeting in Sydney, electing Susie O'Neill and Craig Bingham to the board. O'Neill, a champion swimmer, and Bingham, AusCycling Chair, joined five returning executive members. Bingham's election to the AOC Board was also separately announced; he became AusCycling Chair in January 2022. O'Neill stated she will prioritize athletes in her new role. A new tax-deductible donation scheme, a collaboration between the AOC and the Australian Sports Foundation, will provide financial support to aspiring Olympians in underfunded sports.
