Azercosmos, a state-owned space agency founded in 2010 and headquartered in Azerbaijan, employs approximately 230 people. It operates as a public legal entity under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. A successor to Azercosmos Open Joint Stock Company, it was the first entirely government-owned satellite operator in the Caucasus region. Azercosmos utilizes the Azerspace-1 telecommunication satellite to offer broadband and broadcast services across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Additionally, the company provides satellite imagery and geoinformation services through its Azersky Earth observation satellite.
