Bite Latvia to invest EUR 20 mln in network upgrades in 2026

Bite Latvia plans to invest EUR 20 million in network upgrades this year, reports Db.lv. The operator plans to build 55 new base stations, of which 10 percent in the capital city and the rest in regions, mainly Vidzeme and Latgale, said Aleksandrs Belajevs, head of the mobile radio network. Around 170 existing base stations should be upgraded to 5G.

Bite Latvia continues the disconnection of its 3G network. By 10 December, the 3G network will be switched off in the Cesis, Limbazi, Saulkrasti, Valka and Valmiera municipalities in the Vidzeme region. The released radio frequencies will be allocated to LTE and 5G networks.

Bite Latvia introduces inclusive cyber fraud insurance for B2C customers

Bite Latvia plans to introduce a new security and support service called "Bite Basic Package" with inclusive cyber fraud insurance for all of the company's B2C customers from 01 January 2026. Bite Latvia to switch off 3G network in Rezekne county

Bite Latvia disconnects 3G network in additional municipalities

Bite Latvia has disconnected its 3G network in the city of Daugavpils, as well as in the Saldus, Talsi and Augsdaugava municipalities. The operator continues the switch-off of its 3G network across the country, and it has already been disconnected in the Zemgale, Vidzeme and Kurzeme regions. The network will be completely switched off by spring 2026.
