Batelco is a privately owned telecommunications company founded in Bahrain in 1981. Employing approximately 1700 people, the company's headquarters are located in Bahrain. Batelco provides fixed and wireless telecommunications services to both business and individual customers within the Bahraini market.
Batelco by Beyon launched Eco-SIM cards made from 100% recycled plastic. This initiative makes Batelco the first operator in Bahrain to introduce such an environmentally friendly innovation. The company announced this launch on multiple occasions, highlighting its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and supporting Beyon Group's sustainability goals. Batelco stated that all new SIM cards will be Eco-SIMs, with card bodies manufactured using recycled polystyrene from discarded appliances. Separately, Jetour Bahrain, in collaboration with the Capital Governorate, organized a back-to-school initiative for children at Batelco Home for Child Welfare, providing school bags and stationery.
