Ciena Powers New ION Cable Between Indonesia and Singapore
Indonesia's ION Network is deploying Ciena's WaveLogic 6 Extreme optics on its new ION Cable System 1, a 2,000 kilometer Jakarta to Singapore route designed for up to 24 Tbps of end to end capacity. The network is due online by year end, adding another high capacity path across Indonesia's fast growing digital infrastructure market for operators.

ION Network deploys Ciena gear for ICS1 connecting Indonesia and Singapore
Ciena announced on Thursday that Indonesia’s ION Network (a.k.a. Parsaoran Global Datatrans) is deploying its WaveLogic 6 Extreme (WL6e) on its new ION Cable System 1 (ICS1) that will connect Jakarta with Singapore. The 2,000-km ICS1 system will run on Ciena’s 6500 platform powered by WL6e coherent optics to deliver wavelength services up to 1.2 Tbps and up to 24 Tb/s of end-to-end capacity.
