News Summary:

Bundesnetzagentur will present an initial framework for Germany's future electricity network fees in late May or early June 2026, according to a pv magazine report. This follows the agency's announcement on April 1, 2026, of the results for onshore wind turbines and solar installations tenders that closed on February 1, 2026. In the onshore wind auction, Bundesnetzagentur selected 439 bids, covering the full 3445 MW of offered capacity, after receiving 924 bids totaling 7858 MW, making the tender heavily oversubscribed. Also on April 1, 2026, the agency reported that 2025 grid congestion management measures remained stable while costs rose slightly, driven by renewable energy expansion and limited grid capacity, though over 96% of renewable electricity was fed into the grid. Previously, on March 31, 2026, Bundesnetzagentur indicated that a framework for battery energy storage system (BESS) grid fees would be released soon, addressing industry questions regarding potential changes to current grid fee exemptions.
