The Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPBN), a privately owned media organization founded in 1962, is Connecticut's sole locally owned producer of television and radio content. Employing approximately 230 people, CPBN's headquarters are located in the United States. Its output includes television and radio broadcasts, as well as print and internet-based materials distributed statewide.
Connecticut Public received two National Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association on August 25, 2025. This award is considered a prestigious honor in broadcast and digital journalism. Separately, the organization was named one of the Hartford Courant’s Top Workplaces for 2025, marking the third consecutive year it received this recognition. Employee feedback formed the basis of this award. There is no connection between these announcements and the October departure of the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority chair, nor the November Eversource credit rating downgrade.
