Core SWX, a privately owned company headquartered in the US, was founded in 2001 and employs approximately 20 individuals. It provides charging solutions for the broadcast, digital cinema, and professional video industries, focusing on video production. The company designs and manufactures innovative battery-based solutions for mobile powering applications spanning various industries.
Core SWX, in collaboration with filmmaker Armando Ferreira's Mondobytes brand, unveiled the PowerVault at NAB 2026 on April 23, 2026. This modular charging system, designed as a flexible solution for various battery types, features an IP65-rated case with five configurable bays, magnetically snapping adapters, 140W and 65W PD Pro outputs, and a Power Sharing mode that allows batteries to top each other up off-grid. Earlier, on April 7, Core SWX CEO Ross Kanarek released an educational video explaining common camera battery failures. The video, initially put out by Core SWX on March 27, clarifies watt hours, voltage, and amperage, detailing why these specs are frequently misunderstood in professional filmmaking and how their misinterpretation can lead to equipment malfunctions despite a battery showing a charge.
