Cornell University, a privately owned institution headquartered in the US and founded in 1865, employs approximately 19,510 individuals. Functioning as a private Ivy League land-grant research university based in Ithaca, New York, the university was founded by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White. Since its founding, Cornell has operated as a co-educational and nonsectarian institution.
