Crohn's and Colitis Canada (also known as Crohn et Colite Canada) is a privately owned, non-profit organization founded in 1974. Headquartered in Canada, it employs approximately 120 people. The organization focuses on research to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and works to improve the quality of life for Canadians living with these chronic illnesses. As of 2023, it operates as a national volunteer-based charity.
On August 22, 2025, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada announced the appointment of Josh Berman as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 8, 2025. On September 18, 2025, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada and AbbVie Canada awarded fifteen students $5,000 each in the annual AbbVie IBD Scholarship. The scholarship program, supporting students with IBD, began in 2012. In 2018, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada awarded Dr. Harry Brumer an Innovations in IBD research grant for his work at the University of British Columbia on improving medication delivery to the gut. Crohn’s and Colitis Canada also offers the Gutsy Learning Series, a virtual program featuring experts discussing inflammatory bowel disease.
