Crohn's and Colitis Canada, also known as Crohn et Colite Canada, is a privately owned organization headquartered in Canada. Founded in 1974, it operates with approximately 120 employees. The organization functions as a national volunteer-based charity dedicated to finding cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improving the lives of children and adults affected by these chronic conditions.
On October 1, 2026, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada committed $1.5 million over three years to four Canadian research teams, aiming to advance understanding, treatment, and prevention of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. This investment seeks to create new possibilities for better care as Canada’s inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) population continues to grow. Earlier, on September 17, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada and AbbVie Canada announced the 2026 recipients of the AbbVie IBD Scholarship Program. Fifteen students from across Canada each received a $5,000 scholarship to support their postsecondary education while living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, marking 15 years of the program.
