CSCS is a Publicly Owned entity headquartered in Switzerland. Founded in Manno, canton Ticino, in 1991, and subsequently relocating to Lugano-Cornaredo in March 2012, it functions as the national high-performance computing center of Switzerland. Its main function is as a National User Lab, providing free access to its supercomputers for all Swiss researchers and their assistants through a competitive scientific evaluation process.
