The Directors Guild of America (DGA) is a privately owned labor union established in 1936 in the United States. With a staff of 1160, it represents approximately 19,000 directors and other members of the directorial team globally. The DGA's purpose is to advocate for the creative and economic interests of its members working across various media, including film, television, commercials, documentaries, news, sports, and new media. Its membership includes directors, assistant directors, unit production managers, associate directors, stage managers, and production associates.
