Disney Branded Television
Disney Branded Television, a privately owned company headquartered in the US, operates under its parent company, Walt Disney Studios, and is a unit of Disney Entertainment Television. It reported $265.5M in revenue as of 2025. Founded in 1982, with an estimated 500 employees, the company oversees the development, production, and acquisition of content geared towards children, teenagers, and families for platforms including Disney+, Disney Jr., Disney Channel, and Disney XD. It also manages Disney-branded unscripted series, documentaries, and specials for Disney+ and the Disney channels. The company's predecessor, Disney Channels Worldwide, historically managed all local and global Disney television networks and channels until a conglomerate restructuring on March 14, 2018. This restructuring led to a new division, Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International, taking over supervision of global variations of Disney channels and non-US channels such as Disney International HD, Dlife, and Hungama TV. Disney Channels Worldwide continued to oversee local channels and Radio Disney until October 1, 2020, when the division adopted its current name to reflect the growth of Disney+ and a strategic shift away from linear television at the time.
