On May 5, 2026, Disney Studios Australia backed Screen Well's Mental Health Action Plan, an evidence-based roadmap developed over 18 months to improve industry mental health, which is set for release later this month. The initiative also gained support from Netflix, Prime Video, and BBC Studios Australia. Previously, on February 10, an Illawarra delegation led by federal member Alison Byrnes MP toured Disney Studios Australia (DSA) at Moore Park. The delegation included several MPs, councillors, and staff from Screen Illawarra, Destination Wollongong, UOW, and WCC, with the aim of exploring opportunities within the multi-million dollar filmmaking scene.
