Previously, on February 17, Edge co-founder Rihan Javid discussed the impact of the ongoing "staffing squeeze" with Medical Economics, noting that rising minimum wages, tight margins, and fierce labor competition are significantly affecting physician practices and rural hospitals, turning staffing into a strategic threat. This followed Javid's earlier comments on February 16, when he, as CEO, advocated for remote work for highly specialized roles like billing coordinators, citing surging staffing shortages and arguing that such positions should not be limited to in-house roles, while direct patient-facing positions necessarily remain on-site.
