This follows an announcement on January 29, 2026, that Daniel Kretinsky, already the owner of Editis, launched a takeover bid to gain majority control of French group FNAC Darty. Kretinsky had initiated this public offer on January 26, 2026, to acquire FNAC Darty at €36 per share. Earlier in the year, on January 22, 2026, Editis, France’s second-largest publishing group, appointed Denis Olivennes to lead the company.
