On August 18, 2026, Editis, France's second-largest publisher, partnered with former Éditions Grasset publisher Olivier Nora to launch his new publishing house. Nora's new venture follows his controversial ouster on April 14 by parent company Hachette, a development that impacted the French publishing world. Earlier, on January 29, billionaire Daniel Kretinsky, who already owns Editis, announced his intention to take majority control of the French group FNAC Darty through a public takeover bid. Kretinsky launched this public offer on January 26, proposing to acquire the electronics and cultural products specialist Fnac Darty at €36 per share. Previously, on January 22, Denis Olivennes took the reins of Editis.
