New media subsidy scheme should recognise the broad journalistic role of magazines
The Danish Committee on Future Media Support has published its recommendations for a new media support model. It proposes that media support be consolidated into a single scheme for editorial production support, which would include the abolition of the Magazine Fund, which supports journalistic magazines.

TV 2 shares Norwegian rights for Austrian winter sports with Viaplay
Norwegian broadcaster TV 2, which belongs to Egmont of Denmark, said it has agreed to share the rights to show winter sports from Austria with Viaplay. The deal covers 26 competition days and lets viewers in Norway watch downhill classics from Kitzbuehel and Schladming, and ski-jumping from Innsbruck and Bischofshofen. Viaplay's sports director Kristian Oma said that after four seasons with strong winter sports rights, his company is expanding its portfolio.

Nordisk Film welcomes new production rebates
Today, the Danish government, the Green Left (SF) and the Social Liberal Party (de Radikale) announced an agreement on an annual production rebate of DKK 125 million for film and series production. Katrine Vogelsang, CEO of Nordisk Film Production, is pleased with the agreement: “It's fantastic that Denmark is now getting a tax refund scheme that will open the doors for ambitious Danish film projects and make Denmark an attractive film country for international productions.

New studies: Children in poverty struggle significantly more than their peers
On 27 out of 53 indicators important for children’s health, relationships, and school life, children living in poverty thrive worse than their peers.
