Egmont, a privately owned company headquartered in Denmark, was founded in 1878 and employs approximately 6,500 people. It operates as a Danish multimedia group.
Egmont reported a strong performance in 2025, with its TV 2 unit experiencing revenue growth from advertising, subscriptions, and streaming. Nordisk Film saw an increase in cinema attendance and released successful movies and games, while Story House Egmont's magazine and agency businesses performed well. Additionally, the company's e-commerce operations increased both revenue and earnings. Previously, on January 11, Egmont announced the appointment of Eva Berneke to its board of directors, effective March 2026, replacing Martin Enderle, who stepped down after 12 years. Berneke brings extensive executive and board experience to support Egmont's development. This followed news from January 6, when Egmont's Norwegian broadcaster TV 2 launched the 'Mer Fotball' ('More Football') bundle for its 'TV 2 Play' streaming service subscribers, priced at NOK 99 per month. This add-on expands TV 2's football distribution agreement with Viaplay, available for existing 'TV 2 Play Favoritt' and 'TV 2 Play Total' packages.
