Elisa Industriq, a software business within the Elisa Group, appointed Mikko Soirola as its new CEO on March 26, 2026, tasking him with leading its next international growth phase, global expansion, brand strengthening, and deeper integration of specialized software units. Earlier in March, on March 3, Finnish operator Elisa announced that it might discontinue MTV's free-to-air channels—MTV3, MTV Sub, and MTV Ava—from its Elisa Viihte and cable television services starting May 13. This follows the termination of a distribution agreement by Schibsted Media company MTV, though recording and pay-TV services would remain available after that date. Previously, on February 27, Elisa and Elisa Industriq participated in MWC Barcelona 2026, showcasing innovations in areas such as energy optimization, autonomous networks, and scam prevention, with Elisa's COO & EVP Technology and Operations Sami Komulainen joining a Nokia event discussion on March 1.
