Entertainment One (eOne), a privately owned Canadian company founded in 1970, is a studio focused on various aspects of entertainment content. With approximately 1100 employees, eOne's activities encompass development, acquisition, production, financing, distribution, and sales. Its services include film and television production and sales, kids and family entertainment (including production, distribution, and brand management), digital content, and immersive and live entertainment. Currently, eOne is a subsidiary of Lionsgate.
On April 30, 2025, a lawsuit alleging that the Showtime and Entertainment One drama "Yellowjackets" copied the plot of the 2015 film "Eden" was dismissed. Separately, Entertainment One UK Limited avoided closure after settling an unpaid tax bill with HM Revenue & Customs. The tax authority had issued a winding-up petition, a final measure to recover debt, against the British trading arm, which had revenues exceeding £176 million ($237 million). In an unrelated matter, Hasbro's acquisition of Entertainment One, lasting from December 30, 2019, to December 27, 2013, for $4 billion, was reported. This acquisition spanned four years and was described as "ugly". Finally, a news report noted an increase in Entertainment One's revenues.
