The network had previously announced on April 20, 2026, its affiliate EWTN Spain would expand its distribution of Catholic content to 24/7 programming on digital terrestrial television. This expansion allows viewers to access content without a paid subscription and precedes Pope Leo XIV's visit to Spain, scheduled for June 6–12, marking the first papal visit to the country since 2011.
