Extron on September 29, 2026, released its Professional AV over IP Design Guide, a resource for designing and deploying high-performance, secure, and reliable AV over IP systems in environments ranging from mission-critical operations centers and corporate meeting rooms to classrooms and large-scale education networks. Previously, on September 28, Extron's AV over IP technology powered an immersive esports classroom at the University of Houston Sugar Land Campus, creating a scalable environment for tournaments, instruction, and collaborative learning. This followed the September 24 launch of Extron's SW2 HD 8K, a two-input HDMI switcher with analog audio de-embedding, designed for system integrators. The compact switcher supports video resolutions up to 8K, including 21:9 and 5K ultra-wide content, and provides an analog audio output for extracted stereo HDMI signals. On the same day, the Australian War Memorial implemented Extron for its AV system, seeking a flexible theatre system they could manage and adapt.
