Far EasTone

Far EasTone, also known as Far EasTone Telecommunications, is a publicly owned company headquartered in Taiwan. Founded in 1997, it employs approximately 1500 individuals and reported $3.5B in revenue as of 2025. As a tier 1 media tech buyer, the company operates as a major Taiwanese telecommunications firm. Originally established as a joint venture with AT&T and currently part of the Far Eastern Group, Far EasTone focuses on providing mobile communication services. The company was a pioneer in Taiwan, launching an integrated dual-band system and being among the first to roll out 4G LTE and 5G NR services. Far EasTone has expanded its network capabilities through strategic mergers and acquisitions, including the acquisition of KG Telecom and a recent merger with Asia Pacific Telecom, which bolstered its wireless spectrum. Additionally, its digital division develops multimedia services such as the friDay Video OTT platform, positioning the company as an integrated telecommunications and digital content provider.
