On April 1, 2026, Federated Wireless revealed it led the design, integration, deployment, and cybersecurity compliance for the U.S. Marine Corps' 5G Private Infrastructure Network (5G PIN) under contract with Marine Corps Logistics Command (MARCORLOGCOM), collaborating with HPE and JMA Wireless. This development follows the Marine Corps' grant of an Authority to Operate (ATO) for a 5G PIN at Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) Albany, Ga., which Federated Wireless, as prime contractor and network architect, provided details on March 31, 2026. This network marks the first fully private 5G network authorized to operate within the Department of War. Previously, on March 23, 2026, Federated Wireless announced it would enable the operation of Geofenced Variable Power (GVP) devices in the 6 GHz band. The company plans to extend its Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) platform to support this, following the Federal Communications Commission’s recent approval of this new class of unlicensed equipment, an announcement initially made on March 19, 2026.
