Infrastructure vendor Eltel recently secured an expanded three-year contract from GlobalConnect, valued at approximately EUR 13 million, to carry out complete fiber installations across various residential properties in Denmark. Work under this agreement, covering housing associations, homeowners' associations, terraced housing, apartment buildings, and new-build projects, has already commenced as of July 13, 2026. This follows GlobalConnect's strategic divestment in Germany. On June 17, 2026, Taylor Wessing advised GlobalConnect on the sale of its German B2C business to Stadtwerke Neumünster (SWN), which will operate the network via its subsidiary NordConnect. GlobalConnect had announced this sale on June 11, 2026, explaining that NordConnect, formed by the utility company in Neumünster and Stadtwerke SH, would take over the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network for residential customers in the Hamburg and Kiel regions. The company stated its decision to scale back German B2C activities to focus on B2C investments in the Nordics, prioritizing B2B and carrier business in Germany going forward.
