GlobalConnect sells B2C business in Germany to NordConnect
GlobalConnect has sold its B2C business in Germany to NordConnect. NordConnect, a company established last year by the utility company in Neumünster and Stadtwerke SH, will operate the Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) network for residential customers in the Hamburg and Kiel regions. GlobalConnet has decide to scale back its B2C actives in Germany to focus on B2C investments in the Nordics. In Germany, GlobalConnect will focus on B2B and carrier business in the future.

Telenor to acquire GlobalConnect’s Norwegian fibre business
June 8, 2026 The Norwegian Competition Authority has approved Telenor’s acquisition of GlobalConnect’s Norwegian fibre business for residential customers. The transaction is valued at NOK 6 billion (€0.5bn) and is approved subject to remedies. “This transaction strengthens Telenor’s position in the Norwegian broadband market and is good for customers and for market development.

GlobalConnect promotes CFO to CEO role as FY organic revenue rises 6%
Northern European infrastructure operator GlobalConnect has announced the departure of CEO Martin Lippert in September as it reported organic revenue growth of 5.6 percent in 2025 with EBITDA up 11.6 percent organically. CFO Lasse Pilgaard will step up into the CEO role, continuing the company's strategy to respond to demand for digital services. GlobalConnect also said it expects adjusted EBITDA to exceed its "high" investment level in 2026.

Introduction The Norwegian Competition Authority (NCA) has issued a Statement of Objections against Telenor’s proposed acquisition of GlobalConnect’s consumer business, signalling that it may prohibit the transaction. The Authority’s preliminary assessment is that the deal would substantially weaken competition in the retail broadband and TV services markets, to the detriment of consumers — in particular those in areas where the two companies currently operate as close rivals.
