Space42 announced that Ali Al Hashemi, CEO of its Space Services unit, was elected Chairman of the Global Satellite Operators Association (GSOA) board. This appointment marks Al Hashemi as the first Emirati to hold this position. The GSOA also appointed two new vice-chairs: Adel Al-Saleh, CEO of SES, and Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, CEO of NIGCOMSAT. Under its new leadership, the GSOA will continue advocating for fair spectrum access, balanced regulatory policies, and responsible space use.
