On April 24, 2026, the company announced a binding agreement to be sold to Madison Industries, with the sale expected early next year, according to CEO Eric Hannay. The company will remain in Westerlo. Previously, on April 14, 2026, Hannay Reels revealed plans to exhibit its fire and rescue reels, including the SBEF hose reel and ECR1600 cable reel, at FDIC International in Indianapolis from April 20–25, 2026.
