Hanwha Group, a publicly owned entity headquartered in South Korea, was founded in 1952. Employing approximately 7,390 individuals, the company operates as a large business conglomerate (chaebol). Originally established as Korea Explosives, the group has expanded its operations from its foundational business in explosives to include a diversified portfolio across energy, materials, aerospace, mechatronics, finance, retail, and lifestyle services. While chemical manufacturing represents a core product area, Hanwha's strategic holdings cover a broad spectrum of industries. The company formally adopted its current name, Hanwha, in 1992.
