Founded in October 1946 by Soichiro Honda, the company employs approximately 24,000 individuals. The multinational conglomerate automotive manufacturer has been the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer since 1959, achieving a production of 500 million as of May 2025. It is also recognized as the world's largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines by units, producing over 14 million annually. Honda became the second-largest Japanese automobile manufacturer in 2001 and was the eighth-largest automobile manufacturer globally in 2015. The company has produced and sold the Honda Super Cub, noted as the most produced motor vehicle in history.
