Hong Kong Palace Museum is a publicly owned entity headquartered in Hong Kong. Founded in 2022, it operates with an estimated 160 employees. The museum functions as a public institution within the West Kowloon Cultural District, dedicated to exhibiting artifacts from the Chinese government's national Palace Museum, which is located at the Forbidden City in Beijing. Its construction began in April 2019, and the museum officially opened on July 3, 2022, in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong.
