The I.R. Iran Volleyball Federation, a state-owned entity headquartered in Iran, was founded in 1945 and operates with approximately 110 employees. Functioning as the governing body for volleyball in Iran, the federation has been a member of FIVB since 1959 and is also a member of the Asian Volleyball Confederation. Prior to 1957, it was part of the Iranian Basketball Federation. The IRIVF is responsible for organizing the Iran men's national volleyball team and Iran women's national volleyball team, overseeing the sport of ball sports within the country.
