IABM is a non-profit organization headquartered in the UK, founded in 1976 and employing approximately 80 individuals. The organization functions as the International Association for broadcast and media technology, focusing on broadcast media production and distribution.
IABM recently opened its twice-annual MediaTech Industry Tracker survey on April 1, 2026, seeking input from across the media technology industry to gather perspectives on business outlook, technology roadmaps, and investment drivers for its comprehensive data collection. This follows IABM's announcement on March 25 that it will host a breakfast event on April 19 at the 2026 NAB Show, promising a "major announcement impacting the future of the MediaTech." On the same day, IABM confirmed its presence at the NAB Show, with the IABM Hub serving as a central meeting point for press and industry leaders. Earlier in March, on the 7th, IABM published an Executive Summary and Detailed Report from the SMPTE March 2026 Standards Meetings, emphasizing the foundational role of SMPTE standards in broadcast and media products, from IP transport to video formats. Previously, on February 11, IABM participated in SMPTE's fifth annual Young Innovators event at Sky Studios, an initiative designed to connect students, new entrants, and industry leaders to the MediaTech sector.
