IABM is a non-profit organization headquartered in the UK, founded in 1976 and employing approximately 80 individuals. The organization functions as the International Association for broadcast and media technology, focusing on broadcast media production and distribution.
On April 27, 2026, the International Trade Association for Broadcast & Media Technology (IABM) rebranded as the International Association of MediaTech (IAMT), with CEO Saleha Williams announcing the change at the NAB show. Williams stated the rebrand recognized the evolving market, particularly as the organization's annual State of Media Tech report predicted up to half of future revenue growth for its members would originate outside traditional broadcast, driven by the convergence of broadcast and AV. The organization's shift to IAMT aims to reach 'broadercasters' and reflect ongoing market changes. This rebrand followed IABM's earlier announcement on March 25 that it would host a breakfast event at the 2026 NAB Show on April 19, where it planned to make a "major announcement impacting the future of the MediaTech."
