Idaho Public Television (IPT), a privately owned broadcaster founded in 1965, provides television and radio services. As of 2023, it employs approximately 100 people and generates annual revenue of less than $100 million. Its headquarters are located in the United States.
On August 22nd, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare announced a 4% reduction in Medicaid reimbursement rates, effective September 1st. This decision, communicated in a memo to providers by Director Juliet Charron, cited rising Medicaid costs and will affect all provider types and services except for payments to Indian Health Services and other tribal clinics. The rate reduction prompted concern, with Robert Vande Merwe stating it would devastate Idaho. Separately, Idaho Public Television will host a neighborhood festival for children aged 3–8 on Be My Neighbor Day, thanks to funding from Fred Rogers Productions. Also, over 3000 Idahoans with disabilities are awaiting vocational rehabilitation services, though the agency reported progress in addressing recent financial issues.
