India Today, a privately owned company headquartered in India, was founded in 1975 and employs approximately 4050 individuals. Primarily focused on Broadcast Media Production and Distribution, the company's operations extend across various media formats including Print, Television, Radio, Web and Mobile portals, Social Media, and Book publishing.
The India Today Group is organizing the India Today Roundtable – Karnataka on August 26, bringing together influential voices from politics, business, industry, culture, and civil society to discuss the state’s growth priorities and future. Previously, on August 22, the group launched ‘Pollution Ka Solution’, a five-week public initiative offering a Rs 50 lakh prize for practical solutions to Delhi’s air pollution, with a focus on clean mobility and vehicular emissions. The initiative seeks to crowdsource ideas, with experts evaluating shortlisted solutions for potential on-ground testing, aiming to shift the focus from documenting the crisis to advancing measurable solutions. This follows news from August 18, when India Today’s six-person fact-checking team was noted for using Google’s new AI tool to investigate AI-generated fakes, helping them debunk false and misleading images, including AI-generated photographs of politicians, out-of-context flood clips, and deepfakes.
