Indian Broadcasting Foundation is a non-profit organization headquartered in India. Founded in 1999, the organization operates with approximately 10 employees. It functions as an apex organization for television broadcasters in India, primarily involved in media production.
The Indian Broadcasting & Digital Foundation (IBDF) and Indian Digital Media Industry Foundation (IDMIF) recently urged the Centre to reset the media tax regime in the upcoming Union Budget 2026–27, advocating for a Goods and Services Tax (GST) cut, faster refunds, and dispute relief. On January 20, 2026, the industry bodies specifically requested a 5% GST on subscriptions and streamlined tax regulations, arguing that the current framework is hindering cash flows, increasing disputes, and limiting the sector's investment capabilities. Earlier, on September 29, 2025, IBDF convened its 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM), where Kevin Vaz reaffirmed television’s resilience, and Avinash Pandey was appointed as the organization's Secretary General.
