The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) is a professional body for actuaries based in the UK. It was founded in 1848 and is the only chartered professional body dedicated to educating, developing, and regulating actuaries in the UK and internationally. The IFoA has a membership of over 30,000 actuaries and students and is headquartered in the UK with a staff of around 490 employees. The IFoA sets standards for actuarial practice and provides education and training for actuaries. It also represents the interests of actuaries to government and other stakeholders.
