The Institute for Canadian Citizenship, also known as ICC and Institut pour la citoyenneté canadienne, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Canada. Founded in 2005, it operates with approximately 50 employees. Functioning as a civic and social organization, it delivers programs and special projects designed to inspire inclusion, create opportunities to connect, and encourage active citizenship.
On April 21, 2026, a prevailing trend among foreign-born newcomers in Canada indicated a strong belief in immigration's fundamental role in the country's economy, culture, and society, yet a majority also advocated for "stricter regulation." This finding built on an Ipsos-Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) study, reported on April 18, which showed that seven out of 10 recent immigrants support tighter immigration rules, even while maintaining optimism about Canada. Earlier, on April 8, the ICC presented its third annual Canoo Awards, honoring six Canadian organizations for their exceptional efforts in welcoming newcomers through the ICC’s Canoo app.
