The International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) held an Extraordinary Plenary Assembly on May 6, 2025, virtually, with participation from numerous National Members. On May 13, 2025, the ISMF's President of the Ethics & Compliance Office, Mr. Juan Jesús Ibáñez Martín, represented the federation at an Olympic Movement workshop on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions in Lausanne, Switzerland. Azerbaijan will host the European Championship and World Cup in ski mountaineering in 2026, following approval of an application from the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation to the ISMF.
