This followed a development on April 15, when JFF Director of Football Andrew Peart emphasized increasing the number of local coach educators as crucial for the country’s long-term football development, following a "Train the trainer" workshop completed by the JFF in partnership with Concacaf. On January 28, the Jamaica U-17 Reggae Girlz opened their CONCACAF outings with a positive showing, recording a 1-1 draw against Guyana and a subsequent win in their initial fixtures.
