Previously, on July 21, 2026, JFF President Michael Ricketts expressed confidence that Jamaica would secure hosting rights for the 2031 Women's World Cup, with an official announcement expected in November, despite FIFA raising concerns about the country’s readiness to host matches. Earlier, on July 10, 2026, the JFF targeted early 2027 for the appointment of a new Reggae Boyz head coach, with Rudolph Speid set to manage on an interim basis until the end of December.
